Living by His name, 'AlWitr' :)

Ever felt the sweetness of making Sujood to the Almighty that you never felt like getting up? Picturize this. You are sitting in your favorite assembly, attentively listening, focused and absolutely interested. Feebly in the background you hear the call for Maghrib prayer. What would you do? Here is this amazing event going on and you don't want to miss a minute. Would you get the urge to leave, wait for someone to accompany you or would you take the initiative?

Live by the name of Allah SWT 'AlWitr'[meaning: The Odd]. And be different, be unique. If you have to stand out amongst your peers/colleagues, then be it. Allah SWT is AlWitr, and He loves us to be different for His sake. Excel in what you do and be the BEST you can be for the sake of gaining His pleasure and then watch the victory flow through your life and feel the sweetness of faith. Stand up for what you believe in even if it is going to make you stand out because only Allah is going to judge you. Not the people.

I asked myself, am I the one who blends in the crowd like the tall grass that sways in the direction of the wind, or the one that stands for what I believe in no matter where I may be? Do I bring Allah into my life and those around me, or I still hesitate to talk about Him with my friends?

We all have EVERYTHING to gain, by struggling in the way of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Embrace your uniqueness. Leave a legacy. Live a life worth living and KNOW that being different is OK.

Allah SWT says, beautifully, in Surah Fussilat: 'Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah " and then stand straight and steadfast - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.

We [angels] were your allies in worldly life and [are so] in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]

As entertainment from a [Lord who is] Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful.

And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims.'

Look back at the question I asked above. Imagine if you were the first one to leave that gathering simply to meet Allah SWT. And imagine you turned back and saw people leave one by one, moved by that one action you did. Imagine this little deed on your golden plate on the Day of Judgment. And imagine yourself thanking AlWitr for guiding you to be unique in your lifetime.

Do something different for Him today. It could be the last one that made your Creator smile at you.
